Manitoba Model Forest releases new video on DVD
   The Manitoba Model Forest has released a new video for 2004.
   Shadows of the Forest: Managing WoodlandCaribou tells the story of Manitoba's Woodland Caribou and the work being done to understand and protect their habitat. 
    This 25 minute video introduces you to the woodland caribou, a threatened species in Manitoba. In addition to discussing some of the factors that make it a species at risk, the video documents research activities, including state-of-the-art tracking and computer mapping being undertaken by the Eastern Region Woodland Caribou Advisory Committee. 
   Copies of the Shadows of the Forest  will soon be available  in DVD format through the Manitoba Model Forest offices.

Manitoba and Mexico saving habitat 

In response to the loss of Monarch Butterfly habitat in Mexico, the Manitoba Model Forest and Bosque Modelo Mariposa Monarca have initiated the Reforestation and Agro-forestry Sites in the Monarch Butterfly Model Forest Project. Progress of this ongoing project is reveiwed in the 2003 Annual report and a downloadable project poster.

 Model Forest Network and Partners begin new woodlot initiative 

   Woods Canada website is one of the  newest Model Forest Network and Partners initiatives.
   This new website aims to connect provincial woodlot organizations , woodlot owners and woodlot support agencies by providing a one stop website for communications.
